Convert salary between annual, monthly, biweekly, weekly and hourly pay and estimate your regular and overtime earnings.
Enter your pay amount and choose the pay period.
SALARY FORMULA
Salary conversions depend on the number of pay periods and working hours in a year.
For example, using 52 working weeks per year and 40 hours per week:
Annual Salary = Hourly Rate × 40 × 52
A monthly salary can be estimated by dividing annual salary by 12.
A biweekly salary can be estimated by dividing annual salary by 26.
EXAMPLE
Suppose your annual salary is $52,000.
Your estimated monthly salary is:
$52,000 ÷ 12 = $4,333.33
With a 40-hour work week and 52 working weeks, the estimated hourly rate is:
$52,000 ÷ 52 ÷ 40 = $25 per hour
PAY PERIODS
Annual: Total salary earned over one year.
Monthly: Salary received once per month.
Biweekly: Salary received every two weeks, usually resulting in 26 pay periods per year.
Weekly: Salary received once every week.
Daily: Estimated earnings for one working day.
Hourly: Earnings for one hour of work.
OVERTIME
Overtime pay is calculated by multiplying the regular hourly rate by an overtime multiplier.
For example, if the regular hourly rate is $20 and the overtime multiplier is 1.5:
$20 × 1.5 = $30 per overtime hour
Overtime rules and required pay rates vary by country, employer and employment agreement.
USES
Compare job offers, convert hourly wages into annual salary, estimate monthly income, calculate weekly pay and understand overtime earnings.
It can also help you compare different compensation structures before making a financial decision.
IMPORTANT
This calculator provides salary conversions and estimates. Actual pay may differ because of taxes, bonuses, commissions, unpaid leave, benefits and employer-specific payroll rules.
The standard calculation assumes the number of working weeks and hours entered by the user.
The overtime calculation is an estimate and does not determine whether overtime is legally required or how it must be paid in your jurisdiction.
